Marcus Rashford hands Man Utd major injury scare as he hobbles off grimacing and goes straight down tunnel vs Everton

MARCUS RASHFORD was forced off in Manchester United’s game against Everton after appearing to pick up an injury.

The 25-year-old in form forward walked off gingerly with ten minutes of the match left to play.

Rashford went straight down the tunnel after being replaced

Rashford headed straight down the tunnel after coming off, handing his match worn short to a young fan as he did so.

The injury appeared to occur when the forward stretched out for a high ball before appearing to hold his groin.

He was then replaced by Wout Weghorst for the final ten minutes of the match.

But Erik ten Hag will be left sweating on Rashford’s fitness – especially after the forward scored the opening goal and provided the assist for the second in the 2-0 win over Everton.

Rashford is United’s top scorer this season, with Saturday’s strike his 28th of the campaign.

And it would be a major blow if the forward was to be ruled out with injury – especially with a Europa League quarter-final and FA Cup semi-final on the horizon.

United legend Paul Scholes said on BT Sport: “He’s been brilliant for us this season, you never quite know with Marcus, he does tend to go down quite a bit with injuries then all of a sudden pops up and makes a miraculous recovery.

“I’m just hoping it’s maybe a little bit of fatigue or a little bit of cramp.”
