Paul Scholes tells Man Utd to sign Mesut Ozil with Arsenal desperate to sell outcast midfielder

PAUL SCHOLES has incredibly urged Manchester United to sign Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil.

The Old Trafford veteran, 44, believes the German midfielder, 31, could be a “short term” solution for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Paul Scholes believes Mesut Ozil has the talent to link a team together

Ozil has made just two appearances for the Gunners this season after failing to impress Unai Emery.

His north London nightmare continued as he was left out the squad to face Vitoria SC in the Europa League.

And Scholes came up with a possible answer to Ozil’s problems as he watched his former side beat Partizan Belgrade.

Speaking on BT Sport, presenterJake Humphrey said: “We think you might have got the answer though [to United’s problems] – Mesut Ozil.

“I knew you wouldn’t want me to say this on air but we were watching the game and you said someone like Ozil would make a real difference in this team.

“He’s completely not involved for Arsenal this evening.”

Scholes responded: “Yeah, I can’t understand it. I think he’s a player who can link a team together.

“I think he’s got great quality, he’s shown that in his career.

“He could be an answer short term, I don’t know.

“I think that would be up to him ultimately, if he wants to take a pay cut.

“No, I probably can’t [see it happening] but I just think he’s the type of player, short term, that Manchester United could do with.”
