THE PREMIER LEAGUE will break the traditional 3pm blackout on Saturday, May 6.
Manchester City’s home game against Leeds will be shown live on Sky Sports to avoid clashing with King Charles’ coronation.
The Premier League are set to overrule the 3pm blackout
The Prem confirmed that the Etihad clash has been brought forward a day due to City’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid on May 9.
The match was originally due to be shown live on Sky Sports.
And the Leeds clash will remain live on TV “subject to further consultation with relevant stakeholders regarding Article 48.”
Under Uefa Article 48, no Prem, Football League or FA Cup matches can be broadcast live on TV in the UK between 2:45pm and 5.15pm on Saturday’s.
But the City vs Leeds game will get underway at 3pm, and will still be shown on TV.
A 12.30pm kick-off has been swerved to avoid clashing with the King’s Coronation, and a lack of police resources mean a 5.30pm KO is also impossible.
The City vs Leeds game is one of four games confirmed by the Prem on Saturday to have been rearranged.
Manchester United vs Chelsea, postponed due to the Red Devils’ involvement in the FA Cup semi-finals, will now take place on May 25.

City’s trip to Brighton has also been rearranged to May 24, with both teams also in FA Cup semi-final action.
And Brentford vs West Ham has been pushed back a day to May 15 with the Hammers taking on AZ Alkmaar in the Europa Conference League semi-finals on May 11.
