Liverpool stars return to training as they aim to wrap-up first-ever Premier League title in Project Restart

LIVERPOOL stars have been allowed to return to training ahead of restarting their title bid.

SunSport revealed five days ago a ‘major’ Premier League side had sent testing kits to players’ homes, with a view to getting them back in action.

Liverpool have been given the all-clear to return to training

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had wanted his players to be given the all-clear before heading back to their Melwood HQ.

And at the club’s training ground, groups of three who have tested negative have been training, although each one had a pitch to themselves.

Only half of the club’s first team have returned, though more are expected in the next few days.

Manchester United’s stars will all have tests ahead of returning to training on Monday week.

Wolves players will be back in on Monday but they will train individually.

LEAGUES One and Two will be called off next week when the 47 clubs vote to end the season with immediate effect.

The EFL executive committee have been canvassing teams in the two lower divisions for their views on trying to complete the campaign.

And the vast majority believe there is no chance of reaching the finishing line and want to focus on planning for next season.

EFL chairman Rick Parry will host a video conference meeting to rule out the idea of declaring the current season null and void.

Then clubs must decide how to calculate the final tables to determine promotion and relegation issues.
