Thiago Silva ‘basically confirms’ Mason Mount’s Man Utd transfer as he breaks silence on Chelsea pal agreeing terms

THIAGO SILVA has all but confirmed Mason Mount’s summer move to Manchester United with his latest Instagram comment.

The Brazil international posted two crying emojis on a Chelsea Instagram page that photoshopped Mount, 24, into a United shirt.

The post was captioned with the news that was broken by The Telegraph that Mount has agreed personal terms to join The Red Devils.

Mount’s decision to leave Chelsea already looked all but confirmed when he looked emotional and was consoled by team-mate Ben Chilwell after Chelsea’s final home game of the season against Newcastle.

But Silva’s comment is the first time a colleague has acknowledged the England star might join rivals United.

One fan said: “Do not confirm that Thiago!”

Another added: “Please tell me it ain’t true”

While another said: “This basically confirms it”

As per The Telegraph’s report, while Mount has agreed personal terms with United the two clubs have not yet agreed to a transfer fee.

It is believed that Chelsea are holding out for £80million but United are confident in landing the midfielder for less.

The two clubs will meet later this week to negotiate a fee.

Mount has not played for the Blues since April after undergoing surgery for a pelvic injury.

The Chelsea academy graduate has been a key feature of Chelsea’s first team since breaking into the side under Frank Lampard in 2019.

He started in both Chelsea’s Champions League final victory and in the final of the Club World Cup, which Chelsea both won in 2021.

He also came on as a substitute when Chelsea won the 2021 UEFA Super Cup.

The Telegraph also report that Chelsea have given midfielder Matteo Kovacic permission to speak to Manchester City ahead of a move with Pep Guardiola keen to sign the industrious midfielder.
