Man Utd and Chelsea fans furious as Liverpool’s ‘bargain’ Alexis Mac Allister transfer fee revealed with move ‘imminent’

LIVERPOOL are on the verge of signing Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, leaving fans of rival clubs green with envy.

The Reds are expected to seal a deal for the Seagulls’ Argentine World Cup winner in the coming days.

Alexis Mac Allister is set to join Liverpool this week

Jurgen Klopp’s men had initially been expected to have to pay an enormous fee for Mac Allister, in the region of £70million.

But transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool have triggered a buyout clause in Mac Allister’s contract worth significantly less than even £60m.

He tweeted: “The release clause for Alexis Mac Allister is lower than reported £45/50m.”

The 24-year-old is claimed to have agreed a five-year deal with the Reds, with a medical scheduled for the next 24 to 48 hours.

Upon seeing their rivals seal a deal for Mac Allister, some fans of Man United and Chelsea were left gutted that their clubs had missed out.

One Red Devils fan angrily tweeted: “Dear@ManUtd this is how you sign a player.

“You don’t make noise you go for the player and seal the freaky deal!”

While another huffed: “Very annoyed we weren’t in on this…how were we linked with mason mount and not mac allister?! And for a bargain too.”

A Chelsea supporter fumed: “Why is Chelsea letting Mac Allister go to Liverpool this cheap!? Make a bid!”

Another joked: “Chelsea is not known for making smart deals.”

While a further Twitter user admitted: “Great signing, fair play.”

Liverpool are set to add another midfielder in addition to Mac Allister.

The Reds are interested in Manu Kone and Khephrem Thuram, with Romano reporting that talks having taken place with both players’ agents.
