Jose Mourinho in Arsenal executive box to watch under-pressure Emery scrape win over Vitoria

JOSE MOURINHO took his place in Arsenal’s executive box to watch under-pressure Unai Emery scrape a last-gasp win over Vitoria Guimaraes on Thursday night.

The Special One was pictured taking in the dramatic 3-2 Europa League win in North London.

Mourinho was thought to be a guest of head of football Raul Sanllehi, although that is currently unclear.

Regardless, the snap sparking an excited reaction from Gooners after it went viral on social media.

Current boss Emery is under increasing pressure at the club with the Spaniard appearing more and more flustered.

The former Paris Saint-Germain chief snapped earlier this week, slamming Arsene Wenger’s reign in North London when quizzed over his side’s patchy form.

Mourinho, meanwhile, has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United last December – and earlier this week was ruled out of the running to take over at Borussia Dortmund.

The Special One may have simply been politely accepting an invitation, or perhaps keen to watch the Portuguese club in action.

But it hasn’t stopped Arsenal fans debating the reason for the visit on social media.

One tweeted: “Mourinho was clearly at the Emirates for a reason. Why else would he waste his Thursday evening watching Europa League?

“Hes already working out what he can do to turn this team into winners, I love it, my manager.”

Another wrote: “The Arsenal board wouldnt hire Mourinho would they? I know he is available but his attitude is pretty destructive.”

A third joked: “Mourinho was spotted at the Emirates yesterday for The match against Vitoria.

“Dear #wenger please come back… We are sorry. It was just a joke.”
