Timo Werner’s agent tells Chelsea and Man Utd not to ‘waste their time’ as Liverpool transfer is ‘effectively done’

TIMO WERNER’S agent has reportedly told Manchester United and Chelsea to stop wasting their time as the deal to take the German to Liverpool is effectively done.

The RB Leipzig star has been linked with the Reds for months before their Premier League rivals developed recent interest.

Timo Werner’s agent has told Man Utd and Chelsea not to ‘waste their time’ as Liverpool deal is ‘effectively done’

But the 24-year-old’s representatives have told them not to bother, according to the Transfer Window podcast.

Transfer expert Ian McGarry said: “Werner has agreed personal terms with Liverpool.

“On a five-year contract that will pay the player around £140,000-a-week.

“It has been widely reported that Chelsea and Manchester United have been interested in the player.

“Our information is that’s not the case.

“The reason for that is that they believe and have been told by the player’s representatives that a deal is effectively done to Liverpool.

“And effectively they would be wasting their time.”

It emerged yesterday teams have just 12 days to snap up the German international for less than £50million.

The Premier League giants have until June 15 before Werner‘s £49m release clause at RB Leipzig expires.

Werner, 24, still has three years left to run on his current deal but Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann admitted earlier this week the 30-goal hitman could be off.

He said: “There is nothing we can do about it. He knows what he has in Leipzig and also what he has with me.

“I show him that — he gets many chances to develop himself.

“I don’t know if it will help him that much if I tell him every day.

“A player has to feel that he can get better. If he doesn’t feel that, it wouldn’t do any good if I kept on telling him to stay here.

“In the end, it is his life, his career, he can decide that. I can’t think of anything new to say to Timo.”
