Man City legend Yaya Toure promoted from second division to Chinese Super League with Qingdao Huanghai

YAYA TOURE had that winning feeling again on Saturday with promotion from China’s second-tier with Qingdao Huanghai.

A 2-0 win at Shanghai Shenxin secured the rise to the Chinese Super League three months after the ex-Manchester City star arrived.

Toure spent eight seasons with City and won three titles

Playing 90 minutes in the triumph, Toure revelled in the achievement on Twitter with a photo of the dressing room celebrations.

He wrote:“Today we made history.Promotion!!!

“Next season Qingdao Huanghai FC will be where they should be… the Chinese Super League!!!

“Im proud to help make this happen but I want the title….!!!! One more game to go.”

Toure can secure his sixth league title in a third country with a point against lowly Nantong Zhiyun next Saturday.

Reports suggested the Ivorian had retired from football in the summer before his surprise move to China, where he plays alongside ex-West Ham striker Ricardo Vaz Te.

The midfielder has made his mark in League One with two goals and three assists in 12 matches.

Majority owned by Shenzhen Hengye Investment Group Co, the Sea Bulls were formed in 2013 and next season will mark their first in the top-tier.
