Man Utd in Jadon Sancho transfer blow as Dortmund chief says £108m is ‘only acceptable fee’ and sets August 10 deadline

BORUSSIA DORTMUND have told Manchester United: Pay £108million by August 10 or you won’t get Jadon Sancho.

United chiefs thought they had sealed a £60m fee for the England winger, plus add-ons.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho could be on his way to Manchester United – if they pay £108m by August 10

But Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has once again told Red Devils supremos to put up or shut up.

Zorc says the Germans do not want this dragging on over the whole of the transfer window, which opened on Monday July 27.

He claims the transfer is “purely a media topic”.

And he added: “There is no room for negotiation, 120 million Euros is the only acceptable fee. Dortmund start their training camp in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, on Aug 10, there will be no sale after that date.”

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had wanted Sancho, 20, to team up with England team-mate Marcus Rashford and France international Anthony Martial in a strike force to put fear into Premier League defences.

But the form of Mason Greenwood has made the transfer of Sancho not such massive priority, particular with the sums Dortmund want.

Sancho joined them for £7m from Manchester City in 2017.

He has broken records in the Bundesliga and become a huge target for English clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool.

Now, United have a quick decision to make.

Sancho is said to be on £190,000-a-week at Dortmund.

But he has made it known privately that he would like to return to England.

The player, who scored 22 goals in Germany last season, would seek a £200,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford which would put him just behind the club’s top earners David De Gea and Paul Pogba.
