Chelsea fans troll Man Utd ahead of Carabao Cup clash and boast Pulisic has more hat-tricks than them since 2013

CHELSEA fans are already trolling Manchester United ahead of the Carabao Cup clash this week.

The two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night battling it out for a quarter-final spot.

And Blues fans are pointing out their side’s hat-trick heroics this season to mock their rivals.

Manchester United famously have not scored a Premier League hat-trick for six years.

Their last treble came from Robin van Persie on April 22, 2013 in the game against Aston Villa which secured Sir Alex Ferguson the title in his final season in charge.

In the time since that Van Persie goalfest, Chelsea have hit eight.

And they are among the hat-trick kings this season.

Christian Pulisic – who only arrived from Borussia Dortmund in the summer – bagged his first Chelsea goals with three away at Burnley at the weekend.

And it was no ordinary effort, either, as he scored with his left foot, right foot and a header to complete the perfect hat-trick.

So fans were quick to point out the stark difference between the two sides and begin the trash talk.

One said: “Chelsea have scored 2 hat-tricks this season (Abraham and Pulisic). Man Utd have scored 0 hat-trick since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as manager.”

Another tweeted: “Hatricks in the Premier League since 2012: Manchester United 0, Christian Pulisic: 1. If I speak…”

And a third added: “Pulisic has more hattrick than Man Utd since 2012. Pipe down.”

Pulisic’s hat-trick was Chelsea’s second league treble of the season with Tammy Abraham managing the feat as Frank Lampard’s men crushed Wolves 5-2 in September.

Samuel Eto’o, Eden Hazard twice, Andre Schurrle, Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata have also netted hat-tricks since United last managed one.

Ironically, seven hat-tricks have been scored in the Premier League so far this season, with three teams getting two each.
