Arsenal blow as Dani Ceballos comes off injured against Vitoria and is doubt for Leicester and could be good for Ozil

ARSENAL midfielder Dani Ceballos was forced to come off with a suspected hamstring injury during the Europa League clash away at Vitoria.

The 23-year-old – on loan from Real Madrid – immediately signalled to the bench after picking up the niggle in the 51st minute.

He tried to play on for a few more minutes, but was unable to continue as Matteo Guendouzi came on in his place.

Unai Emery will now be sweating over whether he will be fit to face Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

But the signs don’t look good as the Spanish midfielder headed straight down the tunnel.

It should come as no surprise that Ceballos has picked up an injury having played in each of Arsenal’s 17 games this season.

His possible spell on the sidelines could be good news for Mesut Ozil.

The German World Cup winner didn’t travel with the squad to Portugal having been rested by Emery.

But his chances of starting against the Foxes on the weekend have now surely increased due to Ceballos’ potential injury.

Ozil started just his second Premier League match this season on Saturday thanks to his brilliant outing against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.

Fans have been urging Emery to recall the ex-Schalke star back to the line-up with Arsenal lacking in creativity in the middle of the pitch.
