Chelsea prepare for January transfer window exodus with Giroud, Pedro and Alonso to make way for new signings

CHELSEA are reportedly preparing for a January clear-out with Olivier Giroud, Pedro and Marcos Alonso all potentially on the way out.

The two World Cup winners were left out of Frank Lampards squad for the rollercoaster 4-4 Champions League draw with Ajax on Tuesday, while the latter was hauled off at the break.

Olivier Giroud, Marcos Alonso and Pedro could all be heading out the Chelsea exit door

Giroud and Pedro are both out of contract at the end of the season, and that means the Blues could be looking to cash in when the window re-opens rather than lose them for nothing.

And The Telegraph state Chelsea may be open to bids particularly in the case of Giroud.

The Frenchman wants to leave after starting just once this campaign, and the 33-year-old striker is worried he could lose his international place ahead of next summers Euro 2020.

A number of clubs in his homeland are keen on the veteran, and Prem sides West Ham and Crystal Palace have also been linked.

Pedro, 32, is allegedly more willing to see out his deal, but he has interest from Turkey and China.

However, both could be forced to stay put until June depending on the result of Chelseas appeal against their transfer ban, due to heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on November 20.

Meanwhile, left-back Alonso endured a torrid first half against Ajax before he was replaced by youngster Reece James.

And the way the starlet and Cesar Azpilicueta performed on the left could have persuade Lampard to leave the Spaniard on the sidelines.

Emerson Palmeiri also started ahead of Alonso against Watford, and he will be fit to face Crystal Palace on Saturday as well.

And with Lampards interest in Leicester Citys England full-back Ben Chilwell, that could mean 28-year-old Alonsos days may be numbered at Stamford Bridge.
