Watch shock 100-1 no-hoper Muroor deliver huge upset at Sedgefield…. netting trainer first winner in 579 days

THIS is the amazing moment shock 100-1 no-hoper Muroor trounced the field to deliver a huge upset at Sedgefield.

The totally unfancied horse had drifted out from 22-1 to its triple-digit odds before the off.

And the seven-year-old was so unfancied that, of the four bookies SunSport contacted, only one reported taking ANY bets on the eventual winner at its mega price.

Muroor, who last won in August 2019, also provided trainer Victor Thompson with his first winner in 579 days.

That was back on April 6, 2019.

Amazingly, it didn’t look like the horse would go anywhere close to winning until the very end of the 2m 3f Class 5 race.

Always towards the back of the pack, a faller at the 11th fence hampered Muroor’s progress.

But jockey Shane Quinlan steadied the ship and, three fences from home, his ride was making nice headway.

Approaching the last, Muroor was pretty much neck and neck with two other horses and jumped the final fence level with 18-5 chance Grand Coureur.

They landed level but Muroor pushed on once he hit the turf and ended up winning by half a length.

Muroor follows in the footsteps of 300-1 outsider He Knows No Fear.

Luke Comer’s horse became the biggest-priced winner in British and Irish racing history at Leopardstown in August.
