Ole Gunnar Solskjaers EIGHT-man January transfer wishlist revealed including Sancho, Maddison and Rice

Manchester United currently sit seventh in the Premier League and are already nine points adrift of the top four and the Champions League places.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils are ready to launch a formal approach for Red Bull Salzburg striker Haaland.

He worked alongside Solskjaer at Molde and the Old Trafford boss eyed a move for the youngster, 19, even before he announced himself on the European stage.

The Norwegian has bagged a staggering 26 goals in just 18 appearances this season, including seven in his first four Champions League ties.

So it is little surprise Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid are also after the striker, who is valued at a reported 85million by his Austrian club.

Sancho, meanwhile, is being tipped for a return to England after three years with Borussia Dortmund.

The England international has developed into a top-quality winger since moving to Germany from Manchester City.

But with a long and successful career in store, it is no wonder United are keen to splash the cash – 100m or more – to bolster their attack.

Of the remaining six on the wishlist, only one does not currently ply their trade in the Premier League.

Lyon striker Moussa Dembele made his break at Fulham before excelling with Celtic – but Solskjaer may see him as another option to try and fix their central-striker problem.

Closer to home, James Maddison remains another target.

The Leicester man has been in fine form for the Foxes with six goals and a pair of assists – and his senior England debut against Montenegro last week.

His international team-mate Declan Rice remains another man who United want to improve their midfield but again won’t come on the cheap should West Ham decide to let their academy graduate go.

Callum Wilson has netted five times this season – with all five coming within four matches earlier in the season – but he is without a goal since September 28.

The Englishman has 38 goals in 103 Prem appearances and has plenty of experience in the top flight. Chelsea have been after Wilson in the past but he stuck with Cherries instead.

Finally, Aston Villa pair John McGinn and Jack Grealish could also be explored as January options.

The two have shone for the newly-promoted side, continuing their form from the Championship last season.

McGinn was a surprise target over the summer as United looked for a new midfielder while Grealish has stuck by his childhood club despite interest from bigger clubs in previous windows, most notably Spurs last season.
