MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly lining up a move for Reading star Danny Loader.

The Mail claims Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to sign bright young prospects for United next summer.

Man Utd are eyeing a move for young Reading striker Danny Loader

And Loader has apparently emerged as a key target for the Norwegian gaffer as he approaches the final six months of his Reading contract.

The striker, 19, has made 29 appearances for the Championship side in all competitions after breaking into the first team last season.

And along with Spurs ace Ryan Sessegnon, he was pinpointed by SunSports Tom Barclay back in 2016 as a future superstar.

Arsenal explored the possibility of a transfer last summer, with Leicester City, Wolves and Southampton also interested.

But United are said to have jumped to the front of the queue as Solskjaer looks to develop youngsters for the starting XI.

United have a history of spending big sums on flop signings, including Angel Di Maria (59.7million) and Paul Pogba (89m.)

But Loader is out of contract next summer, and would be able to join the Red Devils as a free agent.

However, United will need to coax some goals out of him, with Loader yet to find the net this term and scoring just once last season.

Fans are sure to prefer moving for Erling Haaland instead, with the RB Salzburg star already netting 26 goals in just 18 games this term.

Haaland, 19, is reportedly open on a move to Old Trafford.

And his dad, former Leeds star Alf, is said to have visited Uniteds Carrington training complex as clubs scramble for the teenagers coveted signature.

Hes not the only prodigy being eyed by Solskjaer, with 19-year-old Parma playmaker Dejan Kulusevski also a target.

United could add some experience to their squad as well, with Juventus outcast and former Liverpool man Emre Can linked with a Premier League return.
