‘Miracle man’ Ben Curtis ‘banged and bruised’ after horrific fall and rival Rob Hornby ‘blessed to have walked away’

‘SUPERHUMAN’ jockey Ben Curtis confirmed he was ‘banged and bruised’ but OK after his horror Wolverhampton fall.

And rival Rob Hornby who also hit the deck in the carnage said he was ‘blessed to have walked away’ without more serious damage.

Curtis was sent spinning through the air in the horror fall

Flat star Curtis was thrown around like a ‘rag doll’ when his horse clipped the heels of another last night.

Cameras showed Curtis spinning through the air after his dramatic fall from 7-2 shot Fortultous.

The on-course medical team rushed out to help Curtis, who was incredibly able to get to his feet and walk off the track following the end of the 1m 4f contest.

Fans were left praying both had avoided serious injury.

And the jockeys updated them on their progress late last night, with one labelling Curtis ‘superhuman’ for his ability to withstand pain and another calling him the ‘miracle man’.

Curtis tweeted: “Thank you for all the concern. I am pleased to say I’m home just banged and bruised.

“I will be getting some scans but I’ll take that and so relieved Rob and the horses all walked away.”

While Hornby posted: “Thank you for all the kind messages today. Very blessed to have walked away from the fall at Wolverhampton, pleased
@_benacurtis and all horses were OK.”

Curtis’ Tony Carroll-trained 7-2 shot was short of room when hampered and brought down two furlongs from the finish.

Hornby was unseated from his horse Villanelle when it stumbled badly after clipping heels with Curtis’ horse.

Fans were relieved both jockeys – and both horses – were up and OK after the nightmare pile-up.

One said: “How is Ben Curtis standing after that? Jockeys are actually incredible.”

A fellow user posted: “Probably one of the worst falls I’ve seen in years. Really thought you could’ve done some serious damage.

“Glad to see and hear you’re OK.”

Another comment read: “Well done. It looked horrific. Pleased that you are all OK.”
