Jockey David Probert lands incredible 1439-1 four-timer to win owners more than £25,000 in TWO hours

JOCKEY David Probert landed an amazing 1,439-1 four-timer – to win owners more than £25,000 in just TWO hours.

Probert won four of the five contests run from 6.15pm on Friday night – with the biggest outsider being 9-1 shot Venturous.

Jockey Probert rode an amazing 1439-1 four-timer at Wolverhampton

His first winner was 7-1 shot Thapa VC who bolted up in the 7f race to net owners a cool £3,428.

That was followed up in a quick-fire double just 30 minutes later when the David Barron-trained Venturous came home in the Betway Handicap over 5f.

Victory there earned connections a nice £11,971 first-place prize.

Nevile Chamberlain proved weak and ineffective when finished ninth of 12 for Probert in the next race.

But the jockey was back in the winner’s enclosure in the very next contest when he triumphed on 2-1 favourite Autumn War.

That was a tight call though, as the Ian Williams-trained runner won by just a neck from 4-1 shot Thai Terrier.

A human cash machine on the night, Probert’s win there landed owners £7,439.

But he was not done yet.

Probert steered 5-1 chance Celtic Classic to a two-length win over 20-1 Murat Asset in the 1m 6f Betway Live Casino Handicap run at 8.15.

With £2,781 going to the owners of that horse, Probert made connections a whopping £25,619 on the evening.

Not bad at all for a cold December night in Wolverhampton.

Probert said after his stunning performance: “It’s my second four-timer as I rode one at Brighton a few years ago, but it’s pretty special to do it.

“My aim has always been to get to 100 winners for the year and there’s still a few fixtures left to try and do it.

“If I get on the right horses hopefully I might get there.”
