King George 2019: Robbie Power hunting dream Kempton win aboard complete package Lostintranslation

ROBBIE Power has a first win in the King George at the top of his Christmas list.

The leading jockey is set to ride Colin Tizzard’s Lostintranslation, who lowered the colours of Haydock specialist Bristol De Mai in the Betfair Chase last month.

Lostintranslation is the joint-favourite for the King George

The improving seven-year-old is the 13-8 joint favourite alongside Cyrname with big-race sponsors Ladbrokes.

And Power reckons his horse has all the right qualities to land Kemptons Boxing Day feature.

He told Sun Racing: “They didn’t go as fast at Haydock as I thought they would and my horse was able to use his speed.

“He jumped and travelled so well through the race, he has got a very high cruising speed.

“They are two of the main attributes you need if you’re going to be a top staying chaser and he ticks both of those boxes, he’s the complete package.

“He is only seven and I believe whatever he achieves this year he will be even better next season.”

Power confirmed that Lostintranslations preparation had gone smoothly in recent weeks.

He added: “He is in good form at home. Everything has gone well with him.

“I don’t want to see Colin Tizzard ringing me between now and Boxing Day because that’ll mean something has gone wrong!

“The rain won’t harm his chances but I think he is a better horse on better ground.

“I wouldn’t want it to become a slog on heavy ground, though that would be very unusual for Kempton.

“The King George is an iconic race. I’ve never ridden in one before but it’s one I’d love to add to the list.”
