Watch dramatic moment horse and jockey both crash through plastic wing next to jump at Uttoxeter

THIS is the dramatic moment a horse caused carnage by sending his jockey crashing through a plastic fence at Uttoxeter.

Bryden Boy, a 40-1 shot ridden by Lorcan Murtagh, sent the rider careering through the wing three flights from home.

The jockey ended up in a crumpled heap on the floor – like the plastic fence he fell through
Fortunately both jockey and horse were OK after the crash

Footage showed the horse, who has trailing in last at the time, veer sharply to the left approaching the hurdle.

He had no intention of jumping the flight and instead crashed head-first through the wing.

Murtagh had no option but to hit the eject button and he was sent flying through the fence as well.

The shocking scenes were caught on camera – but luckily jockey and horse were unhurt in the incident.

And the same could be said for Daryl Jacob, who took an almighty tumble from Gipsy De Choisel in the 2.25 at Ffos Las.

The 2-1 shot was just a length behind eventual winner Up For Parol when falling at the last.

Incredible photos showed Jacob flying through the air as the horse hit the turf, with both up and OK afterwards.

Jockey Charlie Todd was another to escape injury after he was flung through the air upside-down in a spectacular Southwell fall yesterday.

Taking falls is part of the job for these brave jockeys

Miraculously, he got back to this feet pretty much straight away and walked off unhurt.

Todd, a conditional rider, spoke to Sky Sports Racing after the incident.

He said “We were going along nicely but being in front she’s pricked her ears and she’s had a look at it [the jump] and wandered about it going into it.

“The way it looked she was going to run into the wing.

“What she’s done last minute has caught me off guard by going left-handed again and chucked me out the side door basically.”
