Amir Khan wants to deliver final blow to Kell Brook after rival bounced back from TWO knife attacks and wrecked face

AMIR KHAN wants to end Kell Brook’s boxing career after he repeatedly rebuilt it following two horror knife attacks and injuries.

Sheffield’s 35-year-old former IBF welterweight champion has had his face rebuilt twice – after suffering cheekbone fractures on brutal defeats to Gennady Golovkin in 2016 and Errol Spence Jr a year later.

And his left thigh carries the horrific scar of a 2014 knife attack in Tenerife that he did incredibly well to battle back from.

Brook’s limb was hacked into by a machete while he was trying to enjoy a holiday to celebrate his magnificent world title win over Shawn Porter a couple of weeks earlier.

And there were serious fears he would never walk again, let alone defend his title.

The life-threatening attack came seven years after another less-serious incident outside a nightclub in 2007 when he was stabbed in the buttocks.

Inside the ring, Brook suffered life changing injuries in back-to-back defeats.

Golovkin shattered the right orbital bone and American 147lbs monster Errol Spence gave him a matching set at Brook’s beloved Bramall Lane eight months later.

Brook has titanium plates in both damaged areas and jokingly calls himself a Terminator reinforced by Sheffield Steel.

But when you get close up to the Inge Gym ace you can see scars and damage remain hanging around his peepers.

Khan’s most serious injuries and ailments have come from violent KO losses to the likes of Breidis Prescott, Danny Garcia and Canelo Alvarez.

But he has also taken time out to have his hand rebuilt.

Three months after the sickening KO loss to Canelo, Khan had his right paw completely regenerated with bones from his HIP.

In a SunSport exclusive the ace revealed he had boxed for 13 YEARS with a damaged hand and could only punch at around 30 per cent of his power.

He told us: “I kept the news of my hand injury quiet from everyone. I had to because I didn’t want any of my opponents to know about it, I didn’t want to give away an advantage.

“I remember the days when I was boxing with one hand in training but I had to keep on fighting to keep my name up and to get that experience. I had to keep going and keep my name, but my heart wasn’t in it.

“I didn’t want to go into those fights but I had to do it to become a world champion one day. Since then, I have never really thrown a right hand hard with all my might.

“I know people might question why I didn’t get the operation sooner but I couldn’t – I was too set on chasing my dream to become world champion and I was in big fights.

“I was one of the brightest prospects in the UK, the pressure was on me and I had to fight. I couldn’t afford to take six months off for an operation.

“I was getting paid a lot so I didn’t want to kill off my deal with TV, I had such a good deal. I was getting paid for my earlier fights what world champions are getting paid now.

“I had to keep on fighting and keep myself busy. I didn’t want to take a step back because my dream to become world champion would have been delayed.”
