Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk fight set to earn £65m from being hosted in Saudi Arabia alone OUTSIDE of PPV money

ANTHONY JOSHUA and Oleksandr Usyk are set to split a staggering £65million for their rematch in Saudi Arabia.

The heavyweight stars will go toe-to-toe for a second time in their rematch in Jeddah on August 20 and faced off at an intense press conference on Tuesday.

Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk will split a record £65m site deal down the middle for their rematch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

And now it has been revealed Joshua and Usyk will split a staggering £65m down the middle just for fighting in the Middle East, according to the Daily Star.

However, the record-breaking site deal still may not be Joshua’s biggest-ever pay-day.

The previous record was set in 2019, for AJ’s rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr, at £48.7m.

That night, around 80 per cent of the purse went into the Brit star’s pocket.

However, this autumn, Joshua, 32, will split the purse 50/50 with 35-year-old Usyk as he attempts to reclaim his heavyweight belts, lost in September last year.

That means he’s in line to take home £32.5m of the site deal, as opposed to £39m three years ago against Ruiz.

That said, the pair are both set to cash in to the tune of around £100m for the fight once PPV money, ticket sales, sponsorship deals and merchandise are taken into account.

For Joshua vs Usyk I, around 1.2million PPVs were sold at £24.95 apiece, totalling around £3m.

On Tuesday, Joshua revealed he was still “hungry” to reclaim his heavyweight crowns following his shock loss last year.

The Watford ace said: “The hunger is still there.

“Keep motivation high, blips happen in life but mental toughness and consistency will always prevail. We are still on the road to undisputed.

“I am focused on the target sitting over there and, God willing, I will perform and become three-time heavyweight champion of the world.

“With Ruiz, people could see things weren’t 100 per cent but you have to be strong and thick skinned.

“When I win I keep it moving and you have to be the same in defeat. I knew I could come back.

“Usyk bust my arse for some rounds and I have to take that defeat well, as well.
