While he’s all smiles in the Middle East now, he won’t be when he returns in July.

Joshua says he’s going to try and knock Usyk out, instead of trying to outbox him for 12 rounds.

Speaking at the Oxford Union AJ, 32, revealed: “The fight with Usyk, in my mind, was going for 12 rounds.

“That was my game plan because I thought I could compete with him as a boxer.

“And I think he won two more rounds than I did. That’s how he became champion.

“So the goal now is to go back to basics and go for the knockout.”

Usyk, on the other hand, says his country’s hardship amid the Russian invasion has given him more motivation to beat Joshua.

The 35-year-old returned to Ukraine near the start of the conflict to defend his homeland.

But he was given permission to leave the front line to prepare for his rematch with AJ in March.

He said: “Of course, what’s going on currently in Ukraine will motivate me a lot in the gym, in training sessions and of course during the fight.

“Because for me it’s another way to make people happier, those who are at home right now.”
