Anthony Joshua also extended the offer to former foe Wladimir Klitschko

Joshua, 32, officially began his training camp for The Gypsy King earlier this month.

And he’d like to get the input of The Money Man and Dr Steelhammer before the blockbuster bout.

During an appearance on Pep Talk UK, Joshua said of Mayweather: “He’s a great man.

“To have someone like that with the boxing brain – you need to be around fighters as a boxer.

“Good boxers need to stay around better boxers in order to get better, so I’d definitely have him.

“I’d have George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard. Mayweather, 100 per cent.

“And Wladimir Klitschko, he’s always welcome.

“And it’s inspiration for the kids in this gym as well because this gym is an amateur gym for the community, so yeah it’d be good to have them down here.

Anthony Joshua holds Floyd Mayweather in extremely high regard

Saudi Arabia is expected to land the first of two multi-million-pound showdowns between Joshua and Fury.

July 24 is the expected date for the desert dust-up, although early August has also been mooted.

But AJ is still holding on to the faint hope of a Wembley clash with the WBC heavyweight champ.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, he said: “I’ve signed my side of the deal.

“We’ve sent him a good offer, one I’m sure he won’t refuse.

“I’m pretty sure it’ll be this year. End of July, early August.

“Where? That’s what’s the delay, because of this pandemic. We want to have people coming to the venue.
