Anthony Joshua signs up Frazer Clarke as part of team as Team GB Tokyo Olympic boxing captain turns professional

ANTHONY JOSHUA has signed ex-Team GB boxing captain Frazer Clarke to his management company.

Clarke has been a long-time friend and sparring partner of AJ’s due to their time together on the Olympic boxing squad.

Joshua, 32, pipped him to a place in the 2012 London Games, where he later won a gold medal.

And Clarke would have to wait another 11 years until he finally got his crack at a medal, as he captained Team GB in the delayed Olympics in Tokyo this summer.

The super-heavyweight left with bronze but confirmed his intentions to turn professional.

It has now been announced he has signed with 258 Management label, who Joshua is also with, but has not yet revealed who he will be promoted by.

Clarke, 30, said: “Happy to announce I’ve teamed up with @258mgt as management.

“A team with as much drive and determination as me and all other fighters they work with.

“Together we will achieve every single goal that we set out to achieve … let’s go

“I’m super excited to be joining the 258 MGT team, they have a lot of great boxers, all winners and I hope to add to the success of the team moving forward.

“I can’t wait to get started in the pro ranks and with the help of 258 I know I will become World Champion.

“Its going to be an exciting journey and hopefully everyone can get behind me.”

Clarke in 2017 also represented GB in the European Championships, leaving Kharkiv with a silver.

He has also helped in many of AJ’s training camps as a sparring partner, with the heavyweight star still training in GB’s Sheffield base.
