Anthony Joshua: The Songs He Walks Out to

From Rapped Anthems to Classic British Tunes

MUSIC and boxing have always had a close relationship. One boxing champion who has made some memorable music choices when walking to the ring is Anthony Joshua. So, what songs does he walk out to? Here's everything you need to know.

AJ's Eclectic Playlist

Anthony Joshua has sported a number of different tunes on his way to the ring. From being rapped into the bout by recording artists to classic British anthems, his choices have varied over the years.

In 2014, Joshua walked to the ring against Michael Sprott to the sound of Oxide & Neutrino's "Bound 4 da Reload." In 2017, he entered the ring to The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army," which has since become a notable tune for AJ with fans adapting their own version of "Oh Anthony Joshua." Other examples include Stormzy rapping live at the O2 Arena and UK recording artist Nines with his tune "I See You Shining."

Additionally, the song "Ambition" by hip-hop star Maulo and "Warm" by artist K-Trap have been used, as well as music from American rock band Survivor.

The Last Ring Walk

In August 2023, Anthony Joshua returned to the ring at London's O2 Arena to face opponent Robert Helenius. Helenius filled in on just one week's notice and was brutally knocked out in round seven. But aside from the boxing bout itself, fans may also remember AJ's last ring walk song.

Joshua walked out of his dressing room to The Godfather theme song, played by a solo violinist, while dressed in a blood-red robe straight out of the Scarface wardrobe.

Joshua's Musical Collaboration Wishlist

In 2022, Anthony Joshua revealed his desire to collaborate with certain musicians for his ring walk out. He mentioned artists like Skrapz, Giggs, Digga D, and Central Cee, stating that they are the younger generation coming through. He also mentioned his frequent conversations with Digga and expressed interest in collaborating with him.

Fan Reactions

Fans often take to social media to share their thoughts on the latest ring walks, and Anthony Joshua's are no exception. After his walk to a live rap performance from drill artist K-Trap in 2023, fans were divided in their opinions. Some expressed disappointment, labeling it the "worst ring walk" they had ever seen, while others believed it was a factor in his loss.
