Since starring on Love Island, Fury has won eight professional fights, against unknown opponents and failed to impress purist fans.

And Paul insists the two-year delay in delivering it for the Gen-X generation who find these circuses amusing is down to Fury trying to price himself out.

“Yeah they took forever,” he said about the delay in confirming the eight-round catchweight clash.

“For whatever reason, people in boxing – and it’s a real problem – they just make all of this s*** so complicated when it doesn’t need to be.

“It’s date, weight, ring size, that’s about it. That’s all you really need.

“So everything else is just stalling or negotiation tactics or pricing yourself out if they’re scared.

“It was a lot of greed, which is tough because he’s never been paid anywhere near this amount.
