And Canelo has reminded his 12.5 million followers of the gorgeous vehicle in a short clip he posted on his Instagram story.

One of the most luxurious supercars in the world, a 2017 model sold for a record-breaking £7.5m at an auction to raise money for Save the Children.

It had been expected to fetch £3.6m, but bidders went crazy for the Aperta which can reach up to 217 mph.

Canelo‘s followers were quick to comment on his whip, as one user tweeted: “What a sexy car.”

Another quipped: “This is why EVERYONE wants a Canelo pay day.”

A third added: “Great taste in cars.”

Meanwhile this person simply stated: “It’s a beautiful car.”

Canelo, who has won world titles from light-middleweight to light-heavyweight, is keen to jump TWO divisions to face WBC cruiserweight king Ilunga Makabu next.

The Mexican ace requested to fight the Congolese star in November, with the WBC giving the blockbuster bout the green light.

And Makabu’s legendary promoter Don King has welcomed the dust-up as he compared it to when Muhammad Ali fought George Foreman in 1974.

King told SunSport: “Canelo is the one who challenged Makabu.

“Now whether Canelo fights Makabu or not, Makabu certainly says, ‘I want to fight, I accept to fight’.

“Makabu said it can be Rumble in The Jungle 2, we can go back to Zaire with a major, major attraction.

“He says, I’m from Zaire, where the iconic Rumble in The Jungle between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman was.

“And Makabu said, ‘I’m going to do to Canelo, what Muhammad Ali did to George Foreman and that’s knock you out’.

“Now, I don’t know whether that’s going to scare Alvarez away or not, but we remain ready, willing and able to fight one of the greatest fighters out there today, Canelo Alvarez.”
