Boxer Jarrell Miller arrested after alleged car dealership attack and theft

Former boxer Jarrell Miller has been arrested in Hollywood after reportedly assaulting a car dealership employee and fleeing the scene in a stolen Dodge Ram. The 35-year-old has been charged with carjacking without a weapon and burglary with assault or battery. Miller allegedly put the staff member in a chokehold before slamming them to the ground and then taking the keys to the stolen vehicle. He had a court hearing on Wednesday and remains in custody in Fort Lauderdale.

Background on Jarrell Miller

Jarrell Miller, hailing from Brooklyn, New York, has a controversial history in the boxing world. He was due to face Anthony Joshua in 2019 but was replaced by Andy Ruiz Jr after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. After a near-four-year layoff, Miller returned to the ring in 2022 and had low-key wins against Ariel Esteban Bracamonte and Derek Cardenas. However, he was defeated by British boxer Daniel Dubois in his most recent fight.

Heated row with Anthony Joshua

During his time in Saudi Arabia, Jarrell Miller got into a heated argument with Anthony Joshua. As tensions escalated, Joshua told Miller, "I'm still your landlord." It is unclear what sparked the confrontation between the two boxers.
