CANELO ALVAREZ revealed he will use a whole new formula to gain revenge over Dmitry Bivol – after first dealing with Gennady Golovkin.
The Mexican superstar was stunned by Bivol in May after moving up to light-heavyweight to challenge for the WBA title.

And the shock defeat left his lucrative trilogy bout with GGG up in the air.
But Canelo, 31, opted to stick with the original plan and will return on September 17 against Golovkin, 40, in Las Vegas.
Then, he will look to rematch Bivol, 31, after confirming his two-fight plan.
Canelo told DAZN: “I’m going to try again for sure. I’m a very competitive person, very persevering.

“I tried to gain weight and win this championship, but we didn’t make it.
“But we are going to try again only that for a second fight, I would look to be in much better physical condition, prepare myself for the 12 rounds.
“A different strategy to the one I used with my opponents at 168 pounds.
“You learn from everything. I tried new things, and it didn’t work, but now we have a new guideline for what’s coming.”

Canelo became undisputed king at super-middleweight in 2021 but returned to the 175lb light-heavy division to fight Bivol.
Only once had he boxed that high, knocking out Sergey Kovalev, 39, in November 2019 to win the WBO belt.
Canelo will now go back down to 168lb to defend his titles against Golovkin, who will fight outside of middleweight for the first time.
But the four-division champ does so having been dethroned by many as the pound-for-pound best boxer in the world.
Canelo responded: “The truth is that I don’t know how they handle that kind of thing, but I still feel I’m the best.
“Tell me another fighter who is trying in other categories, going down and up in weight, wanting to achieve different kinds of things.
“Nobody has done that. I do it. I risk everything to keep making history when I don’t need to risk anything.

“I’ve already achieved so many things. I’m in a position where I don’t have to risk anything, and I still do it, and nobody does that when they are in a position like the one I’m in.
“So personally, I still feel I’m the best in the world.”
