Billy Joe Saunders has teased a boxing comeback

But the son of British boxing icon Nigel was pulled out after returning a failed drug test.

It leaves Eubank Jr, 33, in need of an opponent and old nemesis Saunders, also 33, seems happy to oblige.

He posted on Instagram: “Sure Matchroom can make it happen. Eddie Hearn, get it on.”

Saunders pipped Eubank Jr to a split-decision in 2014 but their feud has only grown since.

The former two-weight world champion has not returned since losing to Canelo Alvarez, 32, in May 2021.

Saunders suffered FOUR face fractures and as a result considered retiring from the sport.

But a rematch against his most famous foe would admittedly tempt him back.

Before Eubank Jr’s proposed fight for the ages with Benn, 26, he confessed his utter disdain for Saunders.

He said: “There are very few people on the planet that I can say that I genuinely dislike, maybe even hate.

“I really don’t like this guy, he disgusts me. And I don’t feel that way about anybody but him, he has a special place in my heart.

“And when we do fight , I’m just not going to be able to control what I do to him. I just can’t. That is a weakness that I have, he has me on that.

“Fair play to him, he’s got me to that point, I’m not even going to say the things that I would like to do to this guy.”
