Chris Eubank Jr demands intense rematch against Liam Smith as they weigh in for grudge fight

Novice referee tasked with overseeing the clash

Chris Eubank Jr has made it clear to referee Kevin Parker that he wants to experience "hell" once again in his rematch against Liam Smith. In their previous encounter, veteran official Victor Loughlin had to step in and end the fight after four rounds. Eubank Jr is now eager for Parker to give him the opportunity to push himself to the limit.

Controversy surrounds choice of referee

Parker, a relative newcomer to refereeing, has been chosen to officiate the highly anticipated rematch. Eubank Jr has expressed his desire for a referee who understands the warrior mentality and allows the fighters to do whatever it takes to win. Both teams have not voiced any objections regarding the selection of Parker.

Weigh-in filled with mind games

Leading up to the fight, both Eubank Jr and Smith engaged in a war of words during the weigh-in. Smith questioned Eubank Jr's sexuality and hinted at a close relationship with Brazilian footballer Neymar. In response, Eubank Jr made insinuations of infidelity against Smith. Despite the heated exchange, the media events leading up to the fight have been relatively smooth.

Emaciated Eubank Jr makes weight changes

In preparation for the canceled fight against Conor Benn, Eubank Jr underwent a drastic weight cut and looked emaciated at 157lbs. For the rematch against Smith, he has returned to the 160lbs limit. While he does not consider the weight change an excuse for his previous loss, Eubank Jr has re-evaluated his diet and training regimen. He has decided against using a salt bath for this weight cut, opting for a safer approach with the guidance of a nutritionist.
