Conor McGregor ramps up feud with Carl Froch and George Groves and says he would ‘slaughter them at the same time’

CONOR McGREGOR ramped up his feud by Carl Froch after saying he would “slaughter” him and George Groves in the cage.

The pair have rowed in the past but Froch took it one step further when he claimed he had the beating of the ex-UFC champion in the cage.

He said on his YouTube channel: “I’d fight Conor McGregor in the cage.

“I could be getting myself in trouble here or into a position I can’t wiggle out of, but I think I’d take him on in the cage. He’s too small.”

McGregor hit back with a laughing face and tweeted promoter Eddie Hearn: “Get this signed up lad.”

The Irishman then menacingly followed it up days later by adding: “I’ll slaughter Froch and Grove at the same time in the cage.”

McGregor, 34, has boxed professionally just once before, losing to American legend Floyd Mayweather, 45, in 2017.

Froch, 45, commentated that night and was full of criticism for McGregor.

And the former featherweight and lightweight UFC champ fired back last year in a furious rant about Froch.

McGregor tweeted: “I’ll grab his head and twist it clean off at a 1er with my bare hands.

“Little wally of a thing I’ll slap you around you little toffee nose toss pot.”

Froch – who retired from boxing in 2014 after knocking out Groves – insisted it would be a mismatch if the two were to fight in the ring.

He told Boxing UK: “He’s not a boxer, he doesn’t want to fight me, he’d get absolutely f***** up, but he might do the same to me in the cage and that is why we are both champion in our own right.

“He knows, if he wants a roll around, he knows where to come, but he ain’t going to want this smoke.”

Here are the Basic Skills of Boxing

How to box efficiently

Boxing has become a very popular sport. It is a fight between two opponents. There are different rules for boxing, and they vary from one country to the next. In general, there are three types of boxing; Amateur, Professional and Olympic boxing.

Amateur boxing is often practiced at school, college, or university. This boxing style includes sparring sessions without protection, using padded gloves. Usually amateur boxing competitions consist of three rounds of five minutes each. There are many different styles of amateur boxing including Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Karate, Judo, Wrestling and others.

Professional boxing is usually practiced in gyms, clubs or stadiums. They have protective equipment such as mouthpieces. Six rounds of professional boxing last four minutes each. There are many styles to professional boxing.

Olympic boxing is practiced at the Olympics. Boxers wear special protective gear, which must conform to international standards. The competition lasts eight rounds of three minutes each. Olympic boxing can be divided into two types: Light Flyweight (Heavyweight) and Heavyweight (Light Flyweight).

Boxing is based on the following skills:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Moving your body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spare parts

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch has its own technique. Some punches require more strength than others. For example, an uppercut requires great force. A straight punch on the other side requires less power, but is more effective than other punches.

There are also different combinations. These are combinations of punches that work together to achieve a specific goal. A combination may contain several parts. A left hook followed with a right-cross will cause injury to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

To defend himself from being attacked, a boxer uses his entire body. He does this by using his legs.

Legs

Boxers must use their legs to defend themselves against kicks. He raises his leg when he is hit with a kick and then moves away from the opponent. If the attacker is coming from the front, he will bend at the knees to avoid getting kicked on either side. He will block the kick with his foot if the attack is coming from behind.

Elbows

Elbow strikes are very effective because they inflict much pain. An elbow strike can be delivered either directly or indirectly. Directly, you strike your opponent with your forearm. Indirectly, you hit him with another portion of your arm.

Hands

Boxers use both their hands and arms to prevent incoming blows. They raise their fists high above their heads and point them in the direction of an attack. They then touch the attackers fist.

Knees

When receiving a blow to the stomach, abdomen or chest, a boxer should bend his knees to absorb the impact. Defense purposes are often served by knee strikes.

Feet

A boxer should take control of an attack and respond with counter-attacks. This will help him gain distance from his opponent. Boxers should also keep their balance when counter-attacking.

Stances

A boxer must have a stance in order to be effective at boxing. The way he defends himself will be determined by his stance. It is how he positions himself and where he faces the opponent. Boxers have many options for stances. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

The Body Movement

A boxer must change his position, speed and rhythm in order to win the fight. This requires changing your position, speed, and rhythm.

Rotation

To increase his punching power, a boxer rotates when he throws a punch. Different types of punches require different speeds for the rotation.

Combinations

Timing of each punch is crucial to the effectiveness of a combination. A combination that is effective starts with a strong punch, and ends with one that is weak.

Spare parts

Sparring is a practice session designed to improve boxing skills . A sparring session is where a boxer trains both his mind and his body. Sparring, in conclusion, is about learning how to fight and not getting hurt.

To sum it all, boxing requires patience and dedication. To become a better boxer, you must train hard and for a long time.
