Daniel Dubois called out by Aussie slugger Lucas Browne for next fight and crack at WBA title after Trevor Bryan win

DANIEL DUBOIS’ heavyweight world title belt is already acting like a target on his back.

The 24-year-old powerhouse battered American Trevor Bryan inside four dominant Miami rounds on Saturday night to collect the WBA’s secondary title.

And SunSport understands tattooed Australian bully Lucas Browne has already tried to muscle in on the action and be his next opponent.

After stunning unbeaten Bryan, 34, with a series of left hooks, Dubois and star trainer Shane McGuigan revealed fellow Brit Dillian Whyte is their ideal opponent.

Dynamite Dan wants revenge after Whyte accused him of quitting in his 2020 loss to Joe Joyce, while McGuigan sees an all-English showdown with the Body Snatcher as the best commercial plan.

But the 34-year-old is unlikely to land a shot at the “regular” title on the back of his April defeat to Tyson Fury, 33.

So 43-year-old Browne, ideally positioned in the WBA’s top-15 after a couple of surprise KO wins, has thrown his hat in the ring.

UK fight fans will recognise Browne from his 2018 loss to Whyte and 2019 defeat to Dave Allen and his OTT trash talking will definitely help sell any fight.

The former WBA champ looked finished after former rugby player Paul Gallen, 40, wrecked him inside one dismal 2021 round.

But he has bounced back with two KO wins, the most recent on June 5 against respected Junior Fa, 30.

Dubois has also bounced back from the Joyce loss with two US wins and now wants a UK homecoming.

And Browne would be an ideal opponent after he bravely took on the Stateside mission to dethrone Bryan in his own backyard.

The Greenwich brute, guided by promoter Frank Warren, roared:  “I am ready for whoever is next. 

“I believe this will instantly make me a better fighter now. 

“When you win the world title they say you become next level so names like Dillian Whyte and Joseph Parker are all on my hitlist. 

“I will fight whoever Frank puts me in with next.
“It has been amazing.

“Coming out here and winning a world title is what I dreamed of as a little kid and now it has finally happened.”
