DAZN chief calls for KSI vs Tommy Fury fight result to be overturned and demands rematch after ‘robbery’

DAZN CEO Joe Markowski has joined the chorus of voices calling for the result of the KSI vs Tommy Fury fight to be overturned and a rematch to be scheduled. This comes after KSI's controversial loss to Fury in a six-round bout that left many fans disappointed.

Controversial Decision

In a fight marred by clinching and grabbing, Tommy Fury was awarded a majority-decision win after two judges scored it 56-57 in his favor and another judge scored it 57-57, resulting in a draw. However, it was later revealed that one of the judges had initially scored the fight in Fury's favor, leading to a unanimous-decision victory for him.

Outrage and Appeal

KSI, who suffered his first-ever defeat in the match, expressed his outrage at the decision and immediately announced plans to appeal. He criticized Fury for hitting him repeatedly on the back of the head and questioned the validity of the judges' scoring.

"That is a robbery. How many jabs did you land? Look at your face, look at your eyes. I’m the YouTuber, you are the boxer so you have to win? He is the man who is supposed to be the pro boxer. He hit me on the back of the head over and over. It is outrageous. I want to appeal. I need to see it again. I felt like I won that," KSI said.

Industry Support

Even DAZN CEO Joe Markowski took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice his support for KSI's appeal. Markowski called the result a robbery and urged for a rematch to take place.

Despite the controversy surrounding the fight, Markowski can still celebrate the success of the Misfits Boxing event, which reportedly sold 1.3 million pay-per-views.

With the demand for a rematch growing, it remains to be seen if the fight organizers will respond to the calls and give KSI another shot at redemption against Tommy Fury.
