DILLIAN WHYTE has launched a scathing verbal attack on Deontay Wilder, labelling him a ‘disgrace’ and predicting his retirement.

The Bronze Bomber has been out of action since losing to Tyson Fury in February.

The Bronze Bomber was last seen getting KO’d by Tyson Fury

A trilogy bout with the Gypsy King was long touted, although appears to have been scrapped, at least for now, after Fury announced his first WBC heavyweight title defence would take place in London next month.

Wilder has since given a number of excuses for his loss, as well as splitting with his long-term trainer Mark Breland.

And Whyte, 32, is not impressed by the American’s antics.

He told Sky Sports: “This guy is just a disgrace.

“I don’t think we’ll see him in the ring ever again.

“He’s a coward and a disgrace.

And when asked to explain his theory that Wilder, 35, will soon retire, he added: “Yeah, I think the behaviour he’s shown and the way he’s acting and blaming everyone apart from himself, and getting rid of the only person who knows anything about boxing – it’s weird.”

Having only recently been defeated by Alexander Povetkin, Whyte was then asked whether he had any sympathy regarding the temptation to make excuses.

But the Brit star was having none of it.

He continued: “I’m not that way inclined, I didn’t give one excuse after my defeat, I just said ‘let’s run it back’.

“I went away, I went straight back into training.”

Whyte is pencilled in to rematch Povetkin on November 21.
