Dillian Whyte up to No3 in Ring’s P4P heavyweight rankings after Povetkin revenge as Bodysnatcher waits for title shot

, Dillian Whyte up to No3 in Ring’s P4P heavyweight rankings after Povetkin revenge as Bodysnatcher waits for title shot

DILLIAN WHYTE is back in the top three of the Ring Magazine’s heavyweight rankings following his victory over Alexander Povetkin.

The Body Snatcher exacted revenge on the Russian knockout specialist in March after stopping the former WBA champion in the fourth round.

British star Dillian Whyte is back in the Ring Magazine’s top three heavyweight rankings list

The 33-year-old is now back in contention to fight for a first world title, but the British star looks poised to risk it all again later this year.

His promoter Eddie Hearn told SunSport earlier this month that Whyte could face either Deontay Wilder or Andy Ruiz Jr in late 2021.

Both of those boxers are in the Ring’s top ten list, showing once again he is willing to face anyone inside the squared circle.

Here SunSport breaks down the full top ten.

Tyson Fury sits at the top of the pile after winning the Ring belt after dethroning Deontay Wilder in February 2020.

WBA, WBO and IBF king Anthony Joshua is the No 1 contender, and he will be looking to leapfrog Fury when the pair meet later this year for their undisputed bout.

Wilder sits in second spot, with Whyte’s win over Povetkin lifting him from fourth to third.

Following Whyte in the rankings is two-time WBC challenger Luis Ortiz, who knocked out Alexander Flores in the first round in November.

Joseph Parker has jumped up from sixth to fifth, with Andy Ruiz Jr also moving up the rankings despite not competing since December 2019.

The Mexican-American is scheduled to fight Chris Arreola in his comeback bout on May 1, a fight what Whyte has branded as ‘garbage’.

Michael Hunter is seventh in the list, with Povetkin down from third to eighth.

There is no change at the bottom, with Colombian star Oscar Rivas in ninth, followed by unbeaten Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
