Eddie Hearn Confident Anthony Joshua Can Outbox Deontay Wilder in Long-Awaited Showdown

Joshua Secures Showdown with Wilder

Eddie Hearn, the former two-time unified heavyweight champion, believes that Anthony Joshua has what it takes to "comfortably" outbox Deontay Wilder in their highly anticipated grudge match. This comes after Joshua's explosive knockout victory over Robert Helenius, which secured him a showdown with the Bronze Bomber in 2024. The long-awaited fight is expected to take place in Saudi Arabia in January.

Joshua's Impressive Win Streak

Anthony Joshua's victory over Helenius marked his second win in a row since his consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk. Hearn was delighted to see Joshua pick up his first stoppage win in almost three years and firmly believes that the British boxing sensation can come out on top against Wilder now that he has regained his confidence.

AJ's Methodical Approach

Although Joshua showcased improved footwork against Helenius, he displayed some hesitancy to engage in close combat. Hearn believes that Joshua has lost some of his killer instinct but asserts that his more methodical approach will serve him well in his showdown with Wilder in Saudi Arabia. Hearn prefers to see Joshua box tentatively against Wilder, attempting to break him down with his boxing skills.

Joshua vs Wilder: A Matchup of Power

Hearn acknowledges the power of Wilder but has always felt that Joshua has the ability to outbox him. He recognizes that if either fighter lands a right hand, the fight could be over in an instant. This clash between two heavyweight giants is being touted as one of the best fights in boxing.

A Long-Awaited Grudge Match

Joshua and Wilder were on a collision course in 2018 when they held all the heavyweight titles. However, their highly anticipated matchup never materialized. After his victory over Helenius, Joshua expressed his excitement for the fight with Wilder and his dedication to keeping heavyweight boxing on the map.
