EDDIE HEARN admits he’s “so happy” Deontay Wilder has chosen to keep boxing.
The former WBC heavyweight champion teased it could be the end of his career after his brutal knockout loss to Tyson Fury last October but has since confirmed he intends to continue fighting.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has welcomed the news of Wilder’s intentions to continue fighting
Wilder’s decision to keep going has paved the way for several big match-ups in the division, the prospects of which Hearn is relishing.
The Matchroom Boxing chief recently told iFL TV: “Wilder is a great addition. He’s already there, for the heavyweight division.
“I’m so happy he’s back because if you look at the fights with Wilder, it’s breathtaking.
“Obviously, the AJ fight is a tremendous fight.

“Wilder against Dillian Whyte, Wilder against Andy Ruiz, which should be quite straightforward to make.
“Wilder against [Derek] Chisora, Wilder against [Joseph] Parker, Wilder against Joe Joyce, Wilder against Daniel Dubois.”
Devastating knockout puncher Wilder is hellbent on reclaiming the WBC strap he relinquished to Fury two years ago.
He said: “I can’t stop right here. I must continue my journey. I have to, I have to.

“I’m looking to resume my career for sure. I’ve got a lot of other things I’ve got to get out of the way.
“I’m taking away from my children if I come back, because now I’m able to enjoy my life fully like I want to.
“I sacrificed so much to be in this position in my life, to be able to live my life like I want for the rest of my life.”
The 36-year-old reckons the heavyweight division – and the sport of boxing itself – needs his presence.
He said: “I’ve been highly requested. So many people have told me ‘Come back, come back.’ I’d say I’m back by popular demand.

“And the business of boxing needs me. When there’s a thriving American champion, there’s nothing like it.
“When there’s not, you see it’s dead. There’s a drought in [the sport]. People know the difference now.”
