Eddie Hearn tells Anthony Joshua the three fighters he MUST beat to go down in boxing Hall of Fame

EDDIE HEARN reckons Anthony Joshua only needs three more wins to make himself a shoo-in for the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

The Watford warrior’s two stints as unified heavyweight champion have already made him a dead cert to go in the British Boxing Hall of Fame.

Anthony Joshua is already a shoo-in for the British boxing Hall of Fame

Promoter Eddie Hearn reckons AJ needs to beat three more fighters to land in the International Boxing Hall of Fame

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury are two of the names on Hearn’s three-man list

Despite having had less than 30 pro outings, Joshua has been involved in a whopping 12 world title fights and one unification bout.

While AJ has already certified himself as a British boxing great, his admittance into the International Hall of Fame is by no means guaranteed.

Hearn, however, believes the Brit can punch his ticket with wins over Dillian Whyte, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

The Matchroom Boxing chief said: “If you beat Dillian [Whyte], [Deontay] Wilder and [Tyson] Fury, you’re in the Hall of Fame.

“No pressure.”

Joshua, 33, will have the opportunity to tick the first of those names off that list next month.

The Olympian will renew his rivalry with Whyte in a domestic dust-up at the O2 Arena on August 12.

A win over Whyte will see Joshua finalise a long overdue grudge match with former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder.

Joshua had hoped to face Gypsy King Fury later this year but negotiations over the Battle of Britain fell through for a third time.

He told Sky Sports: “I’m not disappointed.

“That’s just the reality that we live in. That’s the reality.

“Unfortunately it didn’t happen, but I’m not disappointed because we know why. People are starting to see.

“This is just how boxing goes sometimes. People are just…it’s just a shame.

“But it is what it is, none of my business. If that was me, I would have gone in there and fought, but it’s not me so I can’t really comment on another man‘s decisions.

Joshua’s sights are firmly set on winning his latest showdown with Whyte, but he can’t help but admit subsequent fights with Wilder and Fury would be the “dream” scenario.

He said: “Yeah, it would be [the dream scenario fight Whyte, Wilder, and then Fury]. But dreams are fake. This is reality.”

Do you have the ability to train yourself to box?

You can box if you want. It is easy to find a gym that offers boxing classes in your area and then join one. You will find most gyms offering free classes. However, if there isn’t one near you, you can always search Google for local boxes clubs.

Also, equipment like gloves and mouthpieces, headgear, as well as sparring partners will be required. Once you’ve got all of that, you can begin practicing your punches and kicks.

How can I learn boxing with only a partner?

If you’re looking for a partner to practice boxing, you can watch boxing matches on television. You might also be able to find an amateur club nearby. Regular training sessions are a common feature of amateur boxing clubs. These sessions often involve sparring partners who hit the pads together.

You can also train boxing with punching bags. Before hitting the bag you should make sure you are wearing protective gear, such as gloves.

How to protect yourself

You must protect your head whenever you are attacked. Your goal is to avoid getting punched in the first place. To do so, you need to know how to block an incoming punch. Here are the steps:

  1. Elevate your shoulders high and straighten your shoulders.
  2. Keep your elbows close together.
  3. Block the incoming punch with your forearm.
  4. Counterattack immediately.
  5. Continue blocking until the attacker runs away.
  6. Don’t let your defense slip.

How long does it take for boxers to train each day?

Boxing trainers work out for at least 4 hours each day. They spend time learning new moves and practice their punches, as well as studying boxing techniques. Boxers often spar up to 10 times a week.

How many punches does a human take to get through a round?

A punch is defined as “a blow delivered from a fist”. One punch is all that a human can take. If someone punches you in the face you are being punched. You cannot hit someone’s back. It would be impossible to hit him/her back with two punches.
