Eric Molina Predicts Anthony Joshua Could Knock Out Tyson Fury

Heavyweight boxer Eric Molina, who has fought both Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, believes that Joshua has the potential to knock out Tyson Fury in their upcoming match.

Molina, who challenged Wilder for the WBC world title in 2015, managed to hurt the American with a left hook during the fight. However, Wilder ultimately knocked him out in the ninth round. In 2016, Molina faced Joshua for the IBF belt but was stopped in just three rounds.

Speaking to iFL TV, Molina shared his insights on Fury's defensive style and how Joshua's combination-punching could give him the edge in their fight. Molina stated, "I can see Anthony Joshua knocking out Tyson Fury. I can see that happening. If you look at Tyson Fury, he does some things similar to me defensively against Wilder, which was to stay away from one or two big shots."

Molina also highlighted the importance of movement and not standing still against Wilder's powerful punches. He noted that Fury employs a similar strategy and does not simply cover up when faced with a strong puncher. In contrast, Joshua's fluid punching style and ability to throw multiple punches in a row could work to his advantage.

Molina, now 41 years old, last fought in March and suffered a seventh-round defeat to Canadian boxer Simon Kean. Meanwhile, Joshua, 34, and Wilder, 38, are set to return to the ring on the same card in Saudi Arabia, but in separate bouts. Joshua will face Otto Wallin, 32, while Wilder will take on Joseph Parker, 31. A potential blockbuster match between Joshua and Wilder awaits in 2024 if they both emerge victorious from their upcoming fights.
