Evander Holyfield reveals Mike Tyson trilogy ‘looks like it’s going to happen’ as old rivals prepare for battle

MIKE TYSON’S recent return to the ring could spark a trilogy of fights with fellow heavyweight legend Evander Holyfield.

Last month boxing fans across the globe tuned in to see 54-year-old Tyson battle to a draw in an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr.

It was the American’s first fight in over 15 years after he worked himself back into terrific shape.

And it appears Holyfield wants to get in on the action after claiming negotiations are well underway to reunite with his rival.

Speaking to TMZ, the 58-year-old said: “We’ve definitely had conversations with them. It looks like it’s going to happen.

“Let’s do it, baby. Simple as that. Let’s do it.”

The pair have history that ended in Tyson biting off a chunk of Holyfield’s ear.

Holyfield upset the odds by taking his heavyweight title belt in 1996 before their rematch ended in Tyson’s disqualification following the ear incident.

Just last month Tyson admitted he would show no hesitation in biting his ear again if Holyfield showed dirty tactics in the fight.

The latter was accused of headbutting in which Tyson reacted angrily.

He told Fox News: “I say, ‘No, never ever again’ but I might do it again.

“Well if he does what he was doing to get bitten, I would bite him again, yeah.”

If a deal to fight Tyson falls through, Holyfield could instead take on Glenn McCrory in April.

McCrory, 56, said: “I spoke to Holyfield on the phone the other night and he said he’ll fight me.

“He’s been scared of me for 30 years, but now he’s finally going to fight me. He’s getting brave.

“We’re looking at April, I’m talking to Joe Brown and Jim Freeman from the BKB company and they want to put it on at the O2 in April.”

McCrory last fought in 1993 when he was outpointed by Alfred Cole. He won 30 of his 39 fights, losing 8 and drawing one.
