Five opponents Mike Tyson can fight NEXT after Roy Jones Jr in Legends Only League

MIKE TYSON may decide to continue fighting following his clash with Roy Jones Jr this weekend.

Tyson shocked fans in the summer by announcing that he was coming back to have an exhibition bout with fellow legend Roy Jones Jr.

‘Iron’ Mike looks to have taken things incredibly seriously as he’s in tip-top shape ahead of the bout.

So assuming Tyson feels like he can continue to compete after his fight with Jones Jr, who can the former world heavyweight champion take on?

SunSport have picked five potential opponents who can face Tyson in his Legends Only League.

Shannon Briggs

Former heavyweight world champion Shannon Briggs hasn’t fought since 2016 but has consistently teased at a potential comeback.

At 48 years old, he’s not too much younger than the 54-year-old Tyson and they both look in fantastic shape.

Briggs announced earlier this year that he’s going into bare knuckle boxing

Briggs has even said he’s entertaining a foray into MMA and earlier this year signed a deal that will see him compete in Bare Knuckle Boxing.

It was even reported earlier this year in May that Tyson and Briggs were in talks to fight each other and now that both are back competing – it could be a clash that makes sense for both.

Evander Holyfield

Old Tyson foe Evander Holyfield announced earlier this year that he was making a comeback himself, having retired from the sport in 2011 after beating Brian Nielsen.

There’s already some needle there between Tyson and Holyfield as they fought twice during their illustrious careers.

The first fight went the way of Holyfield, who knocked Tyson out in the 11th round of the bout, before chaos ensured during their second fight together.

Tyson was disqualified in the third round of their rematch for biting off a piece of Holyfield’s ear – one of the most controversial moments in boxing history.

Lennox Lewis

Now this one seems a reach – and that’s because it is. But Tyson would gladly take the Lennox Lewis rematch if it was offered to him.

Lewis, however, has stated on multiple occasions that he has no plans to get himself off the sofa and back into a ring.

Lewis stopped Tyson in the eighth round of their fight in 2002

The British ring legend hasn’t fought since a stoppage win over Vitali Klitschko in 2003, a fight which showed Lewis was coming to the end of his storied career.

He beat Tyson via eighth-round stoppage before the Klitschko fight, thus ending their bitter rivalry. Or was it the end?

Danny Williams

Brit Danny Williams is another fighter who knocked out Tyson as the 54-year-old was coming toward the end of his career in the early 2000s.

Williams stopped Tyson in the fourth round of their fight in Louisville, Kentucky 16 years ago.

Since then, Williams has been fighting all over the world, taking on all challengers in a bid to keep competing way beyond his best years for as much money as possible.

Williams was knocked out by Sergei Kharitonov in September and retired thereafter, but it would be hard to rule out a comeback if Tyson approached the 47-year-old with a lucrative offer for a rematch.

Logan Paul

Money-wise, this could and would make the most sense for Tyson, who would have no problem dispatching Logan Paul in YouTube boxing crossover match-up.

Paul competed at cruiserweight for his last fight with fellow YouTuber KSI, just one weight below boxing’s blue-riband division.

Logan Paul hasn’t fought since his loss to KSI last November

He’s also been linked with fighting Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition. So maybe Paul could pick on someone closer to his own size and call out Tyson?

That bout would no doubt be a box-office success, and Paul’s brother Jake is fighting on the undercard of Tyson’s clash with Jones Jr on Saturday, meaning a relationship is already there to capitalise on.
