Floyd Mayweather ‘absolutely’ up for ‘easy’ Conor McGregor rematch after Logan Paul exhibition as Money reveals beef

FLOYD MAYWEATHER insists he’s ‘absolutely’ open to giving Conor McGregor a blockbuster rematch – despite the UFC star’s recent defeat to Dustin Poirier.

SunSport revealed in January that talks over a mega-money rematch between the pair had taken place.

Conor McGregor entered the boxing world in 2017 to take on Floyd Mayweather
But the UFC superstar ended up suffering a tenth-round TKO defeat to Money

Defeat in his UFC 257 showdown with Poirier, however, pumped the brakes on the rivals sharing the ring again.

But boxing legend Mayweather insists he’s still willing to trade heavy leather with The Notorious.

When asked if he’s open fighting the Irishman again, Mayweather told Showtime Sports: “Absolutely. He easy.”

He added: “The beef is all these guys look up to me, steal my blueprint and then get to hating on me.”

Mayweather’s sentiment was echoed by Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.

Ellerbe said of the UFC’s poster boy: “He’s been talking a lot of that [s**t].

“Conor, if you’re listening, you can get that too. You can get that too.

When asked if ‘Floyd would be down for a rematch’, Ellerbe replied: “Most definitely.

“Because that right there is very personal.

“I think after everything where they left the ring and they hugged and all that.

“But things are a little different now. Things are a little different.”

McGregor, the biggest star in MMA history, entered the boxing world in August 2017 for a multi-million-pound showdown with Money.

Conor McGregor is adamant he’d get the better of Floyd Mayweather second time around

The Irishman suffered a tenth-round TKO defeat to the undefeated Mayweather, who announced his third retirement from the sport after notching his 50th professional victory.

Defeat to the former pound-for-pound king has long irked McGregor, who is adamant he’d get the better of the man formerly known as Pretty Boy second time around.

During an impromptu Twitter Q&A, McGregor said of preparations for a potential rematch: “I’d have people press forward in sparring.

“Especially in the later rounds. A fresh body pressing forward for the last 4 rounds.”

After getting wind of Mike Tyson’s praising of his performance last March, he tweeted: “Thank you, Mike.

“And just know that for the inevitable rematch, with the knowledge I now hold of Floyd’s style, plus under the tutelage of my old school boxing coach, I will crack the puzzle, and I will beat Floyd.

“I promise my life on it.”

Mayweather, 44, is currently gearing up for an eight-round exhibition bout against YouTuber Logan Paul, whom he’ll face in Miami on Monday morning.

McGregor, meanwhile, is preparing for a crucial trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier, who he’ll rematch on July 10 in the main event of UFC 264 in Las Vegas.
