‘He f***ed with me’ – Mike Tyson opens up on plane attack and reveals his wife hates him flying with public

MIKE TYSON has broken his silence on his mile-high melee and insisted he shouldn’t “even be taking public planes.”

Tyson, 55, repeatedly punched Melvin George Townsend III on a JetBlue flight last month but escaped criminal charges.

The boxing legend avoided criminal charges due to the victim’s actions before the incident

And the boxing legend admits his wife Lakiha Spencer doesn’t want him flying on commercial flights

The San Mateo County District Attorney opted not to slap the boxing legend with any charges due to video footage of Townsend goading the former undisputed heavyweight champion.

Iron Mike recalled the incident during a recent episode of his podcast, saying: “Yes, they said they ain’t gonna pick up charges.

“He was f*****g with me. I took pictures with this n****. I shouldn’t even be taking public planes.”

Tyson’s wife Lakiha Spencer – whom he has two children with – isn’t a fan of him flying on commercial flights.

He revealed: “My wife gets mad when I take public planes.

“What am I going to do on a f*****g plane with my friends and [a bodyguard] he’s supposed to watch me?

“A bodyguard and a f*****g yes man. What am I gonna do on a plane?”

The whole incident enraged Tyson, who admitted: “It triggers me.”

Tyson is no stranger to troubles with members of the public having tried to punch an audience member during his infamous rematch with Evander Holyfield in 1997.

He recalled: “The Holyfield fight, people were [throwing stuff].

“I ran up to go [motions to punch someone] I was running out to go. I ran up in the house trying to get this motherf****r.”

With the benefit of hindsight, Tyson admits engaging in confrontation with troublesome fans isn’t worth it.

When asked if it’s a ‘losing situation’, The Baddest Man on the Planet said: “Yes. Totally, 100 per cent.”

Tyson has been linked with a shock showdown with YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul – who is 5-0 as a professional – in recent weeks.

And he recently revealed he’s open to throwing down with the former Disney star, saying on his podcast: “Hell yeah [I’d do it], only to break the record.
