‘I am coming’ – Tyson Fury sends message to Oleksandr Usyk as heavyweight champions speak on FaceTime

TYSON FURY told Oleksandr Usyk ‘I am coming’ as the heavyweight champions spoke on FaceTime.

Usyk, who beat Anthony Joshua in September, is in New York to support friend Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Fury’s trainer Sugarhill Steward has Muhammad Ali’s grandson Nico Walsh also on the card.

So the coach had a friendly encounter with Usyk and quickly got the Gypsy King on the phone.

Fury can be heard saying: “Oleksandr the great! Tell Oleksandr, I am coming.”

Sugarhill added: “Tyson is just being Tyson. He loves the excitement and everything.”

Fury, 33, having just knocked out Deontay Wilder, 36, in October, revealed he wanted to fight Usyk, 34, for the undisputed crown.

But with Joshua, 32, already contracted to a rematch with the Ukrainian, he would have needed a fee to step aside.

Tentative talks to do so had started, until the WBC officially ordered Fury to defend his title against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, 33.

Fury’s promoters Bob Arum and Frank Warren have now started negotiations with Whyte, which will end any hope of a unification bout next.

Arum told Sky Sports: “Frank Warren talked to Tyson, who wants to get in the ring in February or March.

“We are talking to Whyte now to come to an arrangement to put the fight on in the UK.

“It will be a splendid fight and we are working hard to put it together.”
