AMIR KHAN wants to end a decade of Kell Brook insults with a cuppa and a chinwag after they settle their bitter grudge.
The 35-year-old pair sparked a healthy rivalry with a schoolboy sparring session TWENTY years ago but, in the last 10 years, it has turned twisted and spiteful.
Bolton ace Khan has repeatedly raised Brook’s alleged drinking and discipline problems and discussed his private life.
And the Sheffield star has hit back by labelling reality TV couple Khan and wife Faryal the ‘Khandashians’.
But 2004 Olympic silver winner Khan wants to bury his fists in Brook’s face and then the hatchet, with a nice Northern brew.
The former light-welter world champ said: “I don’t hate Kell, this is just another day at the office.
“I am not scared or nervous, I am just ready to beat him.
“There is no love between us but I have been living in Kell’s head for the past 10 years, I might even owe him some rent for it.
“But now I have to put him in place.
“After the fight, there will be respect and maybe we can even be friends, he does seem like a nice guy.
“Maybe one day we will have a coffee together and a chit-chat but now is too soon.”
Khan’s amateur success launched him into the pro ranks as a readymade TV star while Brook had to slog away on small-hall shows for recognition.
Khan landed his light-welter world title five years before Brook went to America to score a brilliant win over Shawn Porter for the IBF welterweight strap.
Growing up in Khan’s professional shadow has scarred Brook – but he stops short at hating his nemesis, even after being on the receiving end of the far worse insults and innuendos.
“Hate is a massive word,” the father-of-three said. “I just don’t like the guy.
“I don’t like him and that is perfect for the fight, I don’t want to like him.
“I feel like he has never given me the respect I deserve and now I can get that frustration out once and for all by punching him in the face in a couple of days.
“I am not the jealous type, anyone in this sport knows that.
“I respect anyone who does well in this sport because I know what it takes.
“I have never been jealous of Amir Khan but I just want to be able to show the fans once and for all that I am the better fighter and I always have been, he just got more attention and looked for the limelight.”
