MEXICAN icon Julio Cesar Chavez says he would have “CRUSHED” Floyd Mayweather if they fought in their primes.

Boxing legend Chavez once reached 90 fights unbeaten and ended his career with a legendary 107–6–2 record.

Floyd Mayweather’s uncle was twice beaten by Julio Cesar Chavez

Whereas Mayweather retired with a perfect 50-0 record but has less than half the fights of Chavez.

The 60-year-old, who twice beat Mayweather’s uncle Roger, named light-welterweight as his best fighting division.

And he claimed over 12 rounds he would have had the beating of the famously elusive Mayweather.

Chavez told ESPN: “In my prime I would have liked to fight Floyd Mayweather.

“I would have beaten him at 140 pounds, I would have crushed him.

“He fought someone similar to me, Jose Luis Castillo, but with all due respect to Castillo he didn’t have what I had.

“The push, the bending. I think I would have beaten him by unanimous decision.”

Chavez retired in 2005 but fought as recently as last year in an exhibition against Hector Camacho Jr, who is now 43.

Similarly Mayweather, 45, retired in 2017 after beating UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 33.

But he has had three exhibitions since, returning in May to dominate ex-sparring partner Don Moore over eight rounds in Abu Dhabi.

He had his first exhibition after retiring against featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, 23, in 2018 before facing YouTuber Logan Paul, 27, last year.

The unbeaten Hall of Famer has since announced he will fight again in September back in Japan, against MMA star Mikuru Asakura, 29.

In November, Chavez called out Mayweather to an exhibition, but the American later shot it down.
