Tommy Fury is expected to rematch Jake Paul in the future

Following his first loss in seven professional bouts, Paul immediately claimed he was set to exercise his rematch clause.

But the American later announced he would instead return on August 5 in Texas against ex-UFC star Nate Diaz, 38.

Although Paul, 26, has insisted rematching Fury, 24, is still just a matter of time with both on board to fight again.

He told Sky Sports: “It’s going to happen, it’s going to happen for sure.

“I think it was a great fight, it was entertaining, it was the biggest pay-per-view buys in boxing for the last two years so I think we have to run it back.

“Tommy is down and I’m excited for that.”

Fury is enjoying a break from boxing and life as a new dad to baby Bambi but has opened the door to a fight with Paul’s rival KSI, 29.

Meanwhile, Paul is already in training for his next bout against Diaz, which will be the fourth time he has faced a retired UFC fighter.

  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • The body moves
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Spares

Punching Techniques

There are seven kinds of punches: Left Hook, Right Hook, Uppercut, Cross, Straight, Overhand and Underhand. Each punch has its own technique. Some punches require greater strength than others. An example of this is an uppercut, which requires tremendous force. On the other hand, a straight punch requires less power but it is faster than other punches.

There are also many combinations. These are combinations that combine punches to accomplish a particular goal. A combination can contain multiple parts. A left hook followed with a right-cross will cause injury to the opponent’s jaw.

Guard Techniques

To defend himself from being attacked, a boxer uses his entire body. He does this by using his legs, arms, elbows, hands, knees and feet.

Legs

To defend against kicks, a boxer should use his legs. After receiving a kick, he will raise his leg and move away from the attacker. To avoid being kicked in the side, he bends down if the attacker attacks from the front. If the attack comes from behind, however, he can stand straight up and block the kick by his foot.

Elbows

Elbow strikes are very effective because they inflict much pain. An elbow strike can be delivered directly or indirectly. Directly refers to hitting your opponent with the forearm, while indirect means you hit him using another part of your arms.

Hands

Boxers use both their hands and arms to prevent incoming blows. They raise their fists high above their heads and point them in the direction of an attack. The attacker’s fist is then in their face.

Knees

When receiving a blow to the stomach, abdomen or chest, a boxer should bend his knees to absorb the impact. A lot of boxers use knee strikes to defend themselves.

Feet

When attacked, a boxer should step back and deliver counter-attacks. He can then gain distance from his opponent. Boxers should also keep their balance when counter-attacking.

Stances

In order to box effectively, a boxer needs to establish a stance. How he defends his self will depend on how he stances. It dictates how he places his body and faces his opponent. Boxers have many options for stances. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • A low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

A boxer must be able to move around his opponent in order to win a fight. This involves changing positions, speed, rhythm and timing.

Rotation

A boxer will rotate his arm when he is throwing a punch. Different types of punches require different speeds for the rotation.

Combinations

The timing of each punch will determine the effectiveness and efficiency of a combination. A combination is good if it starts with a strong punch then ends with a weaker one.

Spare parts

Sparring is a form of boxing that aims to improve your skills. Sparring allows a boxer to improve his mental and physical skills. Sparring is a way to learn how to fight without getting hurt.

In conclusion, learning to box requires dedication and patience. To become a better boxer, you must train hard and for a long time.
