I’ve shared the ring with BOTH Jake Paul and Tommy Fury, I know exactly how the fight will go and it’ll be a DOMINATION

A BOXER who has shared the ring with BOTH Jake Paul and Tommy Fury claimed the fight will be a one-sided domination.

Anthony Taylor, an MMA veteran who has crossed over to boxing, shot to recognition as one of Paul’s sparring partners in 2021.

Tommy Fury faced Anthony Taylor in 2021

The same year, he featured on one of the YouTube star’s undercards against Fury, losing on points.

And the rounds banked between the pair of celebrity boxing rivals leaves Taylor in no doubt of who will emerge with bragging rights on the weekend.

He told SunSport: “Jake is just going to outbox Tommy. He’s just a far better boxer.

“Jake is going to control him with his countering. Jake is more flexible and more fluid than Tommy, he’s got a higher ring IQ.

“Jake is going to dominate Tommy, who knows? I can see a possible knockdown by Jake but I’ve got Jake winning by unanimous decision.”

Taylor was employed by Paul for his wins over ex-MMA champions Ben Askren, 38, and Tyron Woodley, 40.

He has since beaten UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, last October but Fury, 23, will be his first opponent with a recognised boxing record.

The Brit – brother to heavyweight champion Tyson – has won once since beating Taylor over four uneventful rounds on his US debut.

But his level of progressions afterwards – compared to 6-0 Paul’s – has been slammed.

Taylor, 33, said: “Jake is just a harder worker than Tommy. We see him putting in the work and we actually see it inside the ring.

“There’s no doubt about it that Jake’s the harder worker here, I’m not trying to say nothing bad about Tommy, he’s also a boxer and training hard but we haven’t seen a growth from Tommy.

“We haven’t seen a change nor an improvement, it’s just been the same Tommy Fury.

“He’s just getting by picking his opponents after me and figuring out who he wants to fight.

“That doesn’t do him any justice or good inside the ring. Jake is the bigger fighter, taller, smarter, faster and a lot more powerful than Tommy.”

Pundits have labelled the pay-per-view fight as a 50/50 on paper – much to the anger of Fury and his father John.

But Taylor argued Paul is the one who should be offended and urged anyone who disagrees to put their money where their mouth is.

He said: “How can people say it’s a 50/50? Just because he’s got long arms? Tommy has no ring IQ.

“All he does is throw wild punches, he doesn’t set nothing up, he just has long limbs, that’s it.

“If you think Tommy’s going to win, bet your money he’s gonna win. If you’re so confident, put $1,000 down.

“Don’t sit here and say, ‘Tommy’s going to win if you’re not going to put your money where your mouth is.

“Just shut up and watch the fight. If you’re going to commentate and criticise things, put your money up.”

Fury has agreed with his dad John and brother Tyson to RETIRE if he cannot beat former prankster-turned prizefighter Paul.

But Taylor – who has signed a multi-fight deal with KSI’s Misfits Boxing – has taken a more sympathetic view.

He said: “Anyone can bounce back, it’s just how you do it. It’s about how you take a loss and come back.

“Look man, this is a case of hard work beats talent. People need to give Tommy a break, he’s doing things others can’t do.

“Is he over his head? Yeah, he is. But let’s give this man a break, he’s only 23-years-old, he’s still a young kid.

“He has a lot more to give, if he loses and comes to Misfits, yeah best believe I’ll be waiting for you at Misfits buddy, because I’m the new king of Misfits.”

How to box effectively

Boxing is the most loved sport in the world. It consists of two opponents who try to knock out each other’s head. The rules of boxing vary from country to country. There are generally three types of boxing: Amateur, Professional, and Olympic.

Amateur boxing is usually practiced at school, college or university. This boxing style includes sparring sessions without protection, using padded gloves. Amateur boxing competitions typically last for three rounds, each lasting five minutes. There are many different styles of amateur boxing including Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Karate, Judo, Wrestling and others.

Most professional boxing takes place in gyms, clubs, and stadiums. They wear protective equipment such as mouthpiece, nose guard, shin guards, elbow pads, knee pads, waist belt and groin protector. Professional boxing competitions have six rounds that last four minutes each. There are many different types of professional Boxing such as Boxing, MMA, Kickboxing, Muay Thai or Taekwondo.

Olympic boxing can be seen at the Olympics. International standards dictate that boxers must wear protective gear. The eight rounds last three minutes each and are held over eight rounds. Olympic boxing has only two styles, Light Flyweight vs Heavyweight.

The basic skills of boxing are:

  • Punching techniques
  • Guarding techniques
  • Footwork
  • Stance
  • Moving your body
  • Defense
  • Combination
  • Rotation
  • Sparring

Punching Techniques

There are seven types. Each punch is different. Some punches need more power than others. A strong uppercut for example requires a lot of force. On the other hand, a straight punch requires less power but it is faster than other punches.

There are many combinations that can be used to punch. These are combinations which combine several punches in order to achieve a specific goal. A combination can contain multiple parts. A combination may include multiple parts. For example, damage to the jaw of an opponent can be caused by a left hook and a right cross.

Guard Techniques

Boxers protect themselves by protecting their bodies. He uses his arms, legs, elbows, knees, knees, and feet to do this.

Legs

Boxers should use their legs to defend against kicks. When he’s hit, he raises his right leg and runs away from the attacker. To avoid being kicked on his side, he will bend his knees if the attack is from the front. However, if the attack comes from behind, he stands up straight and blocks the kick with his foot.

Elbows

Because they inflict pain, elbow strikes can be very effective. You can deliver an elbow strike directly or indirectly. Directly means that your opponent is hit with your forearm. However, indirectly means that your elbow strike is delivered with another part or your arm.

Hands

Boxers use their hands as a shield against incoming punches. To do so, they raise their fists above their head and move them towards the direction of the attack. Then they make contact with the attacker’s fist.

Knees

Boxers who are subject to a punch to their stomachs, abdomens, or chests should bend at the knees to absorb the impact. For defense purposes, knee strikes are common.

Feet

A boxer should not be afraid to respond to an attack. This way, he can gain distance between himself and his opponent. In addition, when delivering a counter-attack, a boxer should keep his balance.

Stances

Boxing effectively requires a boxer to have a good stance. His stance determines how he defends himself. It defines where he faces his opponent and how he positions his body. Boxers have many stances to choose from. These are some of our most favorite:

  • Low stance
  • High stance
  • Southpaw stance
  • Western stance

Body Movement

In order to win a fight, a boxer must move around his opponent. This involves changing position, speed and rhythm.

Rotation

When a boxer throws a punch, he rotates in order to increase the reach of his arm. Depending on what punch is being thrown, the speed of rotation varies.

Combinations

The timing of each individual punch affects the effectiveness or failure of a combination. A good combination starts with a strong punch and ends with a weak one.

Spare parts

Sparring, a boxing practice session, is designed to improve your boxing skills. Boxers learn to train their mind and bodies during sparring sessions. The goal of sparring is to learn to fight, and not to get hurt.

Learning to box takes dedication and patience. Boxing is a sport that requires dedication and perseverance.
